Texture + Print

Top: H&M
Cardigan: a friend gave me when she was moving
Belt: Thrift store
Skirt: Mara Hoffman (I got it for really good deal!)
Bracelet: H&M
Bag: Anthropologie
Boots: Ebay

It snowed yesterday for couple of hours and today was as warm as mid 50's ℉. I don't know what to make of this weather, but I'm enjoying being able to mix different weighted items and winterly texture with vibrant print!
Have a good day!

Make over : Dining Table

B E F O R E

 A F T E R

This is my first project I took on when we moved into this apartment little over 2 years ago. This dining table belonged to my husband's grand parents. It was used at the beach house that the grand parents used to own and eventually came to our apartment. We know for sure that it is at least 50 years old, but it could possibly be 80 years old since it has some sort of marking of 1929.

I took the wicker off the back of the chair, reupholstered seat cushion with the fabric that I stenciled each pattern! Stencil part took some time, but everything was easy. I didn't even have to take them out side to paint. I always wanted blue painted furniture (blue is my favorite color), so this was my chance! After I painted and used scotch bright to get the worn look. Since the chair had dark stain, it worked really well and contrasted nicely with the blue!

Giving make over to planter has been on my list for while, but haven't touched since we got the planter.... We'll see when or if it actually happens or not!

Have a good day!

Urban Farm Girl

Glasses: Urban outfitters
Blouse: Uniqlo
Romper: Uniqlo
Boots: Unknown (Ebay)

Since I got warm again from 20's ℉ to 50's℉, I'ne decided to go bare legs. I like to dress appropriate for the season, but I like to dress light when ever possible. And I find this romper sitting deep in side of my closet when I was cleaning, so today was perfect excuse to wear it! It makes my legs look bit skinnier since it's volumy on bottom.

Have a good day!

Aging Whisky

I received wonderful birthday card and gifts from my husband in the morning of the 4th. One of them was aging whiskey kit! It came with 2 bottles of single malt spirit and small cute barrel. Basically, all you need to do is pour 2 bottles of single malt spirit and let it sit for 4 to 6 month depending on how smoky you like it to be. Since the barrel was leaking from the dryness of the air, we had to put hot water and let it sit overnight. I burn my name on to the barrel and just poured the single malt into it. We will see how it will turn out...

Have a good day!

Hello! Thank you for visiting house of 3310.
My name is Misato, originally from Japan and currently lives in Washington DC area.
(Not in DC, but 3 min bike ride!) I am an artist/jewelry maker, wife of a chef.
I'm more of making outfit lover than fashion lover. (I think fashion is too big of word for me to use.)

Today is my 27th birthday. I still can not believe I'm 27. I often forget how old I am which I think is a good thing. Since I turned 25, I've decided to try something new on my birthday every year, and this year will be starting a blog! I've had blog before, but I've used it more like substitute of website for my work. I have been wanting to do this for while, but I waited till today to start it on my birthday.

I'm not very happy person when it comes to my birthday, just because it's right after all the holidays and people tend to forget or be out of town.... But I was finally be able to take my birthday being on January 4th positively in past couple years. It's beginning of calender year and new year of my life almost at the same time, and everything is fresh all at once! Also, my husband always make a lot of effort and put thought into making it special for me!

I'll be honest. I want you to have fun reading it, but it is more for myself than anything else. I believe if I have fun blogging, someone out there will find it somewhat interesting. As far as I know, I will be posting my look of the day and dinner/lunch of the day mainly. I don't want to limit myself, so we will see what happens! FYI, English is my second language, I will try my best to make clear scene and right choice of word and grammar, but it doesn't always happen. Bare with me....

Have a good day!
